Description: During this project, students work in pairs and use computer-aided design and makerspace equipment to create a board game based on a book they’ve read.
Distance Learning: This project includes an in-person learning option and a distance learning option. The in-person learning option requires a 3D printer for the board game pieces and a laser cutter/engraver for the game board. Additional makerspace equipment can be incorporated to create other game elements including playing cards, dice, and decals.
Standards: This project aligns to Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and Florida CPALMS Standards for third grade through fifth grade.
