Overview
Description: Safe drinking water is something most of us take for granted, until we suddenly don’t have it. Drinking water supplies can be interrupted anywhere in the United States, and people in many parts of the world live without a reliable source of water. Inexpensive water treatment devices have the potential to save thousands of lives. In this design challenge, students will create a reusable water filter that can be used as a first step towards making water safe to drink. This project was developed in partnership with Dremel.
Distance Learning: This project includes an in-person learning and distance learning option. The in-person learning option requires a 3D printer to complete.
Standards: This project aligns to Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, Next Generation Science Standards, and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for ninth grade through twelfth grade.
